Cockroach घर में चुपके से घुसते हैं और तेजी से multiply करते हैं। ये सिर्फ गंदगी नहीं फैलाते, बल्कि bacteria, allergens और बीमारियों का खतरा भी बढ़ाते हैं। Early detection से infestation control करना आसान हो जाता है। यहां 7 clear signs बताए गए हैं जिनसे आप समझ सकते हैं कि घर में cockroach की भरमार हो चुकी है।
1. Live Cockroaches दिखना (खासकर Daytime में)
Cockroaches ज्यादातर रात को active होते हैं। अगर आप दिन में kitchen, bathroom या drawers में cockroach देख रहे हैं, तो ये heavy infestation का strong sign है। Daytime sighting का मतलब colony इतनी बड़ी हो चुकी है कि hiding spots overcrowded हो गए हैं और कुछ roaches बाहर निकलने को मजबूर हैं। रात को light जलाने पर अगर कई cockroach भागते दिखें तो भी problem serious है।
2. Droppings (काली मिर्च या Coffee जैसी गोलियां)
सबसे common early sign है छोटे-छोटे dark droppings। German cockroach के droppings black pepper या ground coffee जैसे लगते हैं। ये cabinets, drawers, countertops, baseboards और appliances के पीछे मिलते हैं। जितने ज्यादा droppings दिखें, उतनी बड़ी population हो सकती है। ये droppings allergens भी फैलाते हैं जो asthma और allergies को trigger कर सकते हैं।
3. Egg Cases (Oothecae)
Cockroaches single eggs नहीं देते, बल्कि protective capsule (ootheca) में कई eggs रखते हैं। ये brown, elongated या capsule-shaped cases होते हैं। Kitchen cabinets, cracks, behind fridge या dark corners में ये दिखें तो breeding population confirm है। एक ootheca से 20-40 nymphs निकल सकते हैं, इसलिए ये sign बहुत serious माना जाता है।
4. Musty या Oily Smell
Heavy infestation में एक peculiar musty, oily या unpleasant odor आती है। ये smell droppings, body secretions और pheromones से आती है। Kitchen या bathroom में अगर cleaning के बावजूद अजीब सी गंध बनी रहे तो cockroaches की बड़ी संख्या छिपी हो सकती है। जितनी infestation बढ़ती है, smell उतनी strong हो जाती है।
5. Brown Smear Marks
High moisture वाले areas में cockroaches brown, irregular smear marks छोड़ते हैं। ये wall-floor junctions, under sinks, pipes के आसपास और horizontal surfaces पर दिखते हैं। ये marks heavy activity का संकेत हैं क्योंकि roaches बार-बार उसी path पर चलते हैं। इन्हें rust या food stain समझने की गलती मत कीजिए।
6. Shed Skins (Moulted Skins)
Cockroaches बढ़ते हुए 5-8 बार अपनी skin shed करते हैं। ये translucent, cockroach-shaped empty skins dark और moist जगहों पर मिलते हैं – जैसे cabinets के अंदर, appliances के पीछे या cracks में। Shed skins का मतलब है कि nymphs mature हो रहे हैं और colony grow कर रही है।
7. Food Packaging और Property Damage
Cockroaches food packets, cardboard boxes, paper, leather और book bindings को भी चबा सकते हैं। अगर pantry में packets फटे दिखें, crumbs ज्यादा बिखरे हों या unexplained damage हो तो roaches active हो सकते हैं। साथ ही dead cockroaches या उनके body parts का मिलना भी infestation का indication है।
अतिरिक्त संकेत
अगर घर में अचानक allergies बढ़ जाएं (खासकर बच्चों में coughing, sneezing या asthma symptoms), तो cockroach allergens की वजह भी हो सकती है।
